Dr. Géza Andreas von Geyr ist seit Mai 2025 Staatssekretär im Auswärtigen Amt. Zuvor war er Ständiger Vertreter Deutschlands bei der NATO in Brüssel und von 2019 bis 2023 Deutscher Botschafter in Moskau. Von 2014 bis 2019 war er Politischer Direktor im Bundesministerium der Verteidigung, nachdem er zuvor als Vizepräsident des Bundesnachrichtendienstes und als Referatsleiter in der außen- und sicherheitspolitischen Abteilung im Bundeskanzleramt tätig war. Dr. Géza Andreas von Geyr trat 1991 in den Auswärtigen Dienst ein und hatte Dienstposten in Rabat und Bonn, bei der Europäischen Kommission und in der Zentrale des Auswärtigen Amtes inne.

Dr. Géza Andreas von Geyr has been serving as State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany since May 2025. Previously, he was the Permanent Representative of the Federal Republic of Germany to NATO in Brussels. From 2019 to 2023, he was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Russian Federation in Moscow. From 2014 to 2019, he served as Political Director for Security and Defence Policy at the Federal Ministry of Defence and, before that, as Vice-President of the Federal Intelligence Service and as Head of Division in the Foreign and Security Policy Directorate-General at the Federal Chancellery. Dr. Géza Andreas von Geyr joined the German Diplomatic Service in 1991 and served in Bonn, Rabat, at the European Commission and the headquarters of the Federal Foreign Office.
