Frau Regierungsdirektorin Iris Lienhart ist seit September 2023 durch das Bundesministerium der Verteidigung zum Internationalen Stab der NATO in Brüssel und dort zur Defence Policy and Planning Division als Action Officer entsandt. Internationale und militärpolitische Erfahrung sammelte die Volljuristin und ursprünglich Angehörige der Rechtspflege der Bundeswehr (mit Tätigkeiten als Rechtsberaterin, Wehrdisziplinaranwältin, Rechtslehrerin und Rechtsberaterstabsoffizier im Auslandseinsatz) u.a. als Counsellor Security and Defence Policy an der Ständigen Vertretung der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bei der NATO in Brüssel und als Austausch-Beamtin am Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. Im Bundesministerium der Verteidigung war sie u.a. als persönliche Referentin des Abteilungsleiters Politik eingesetzt und war dort vor ihrer derzeitigen Verwendung als stellvertretende Adjutantin des Bundesministers der Verteidigung tätig.

Ms Iris Lienhart was assigned to her current position as action officer at the Defence Policy and Planning Division at NATO’s International Staff in Brussels by the German Ministry of Defence in September 2023. The fully qualified lawyer and originally member of the Bundeswehr's military legal system (with positions as legal advisor, disciplinary attorney for the armed forces, legal instructor and deployed senior legal officer) has gained international political-military experience, including as Counsellor Security and Defence Policy at the Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of Germany to NATO in Brussels and as exchange officer at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. At the German Federal Ministry of Defence, she served as Special Advisor to the Director-General for Security and Defence Policy and, most recently, as Deputy Military Assistant to the German Minister of Defence.
