Andrea Rotter leitet das Referat für Außen- und Sicherheitspolitik der Akademie für Politik und Zeitgeschehen der Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung (HSS) in München. Zuvor forschte sie in der Forschungsgruppe Amerika an der Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP) in Berlin und lehrte an der Professur für Internationale Politik und transatlantische Beziehungen der Universität Regensburg. 2018 war sie Visiting Fellow am German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) und American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) der Johns Hopkins University in Washington D.C. und gehört seit 2019 dem Vorstand von WIIS.de (Women in International Security Deutschland) an. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen auf der Weltraumsicherheitspolitik, der US-amerikanischen Sicherheits- und Verteidigungspolitik sowie der transatlantischen Sicherheitskooperation.

Andrea Rotter heads the Foreign and Security Policy Division at the Academy for Politics and Current Affairs of the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSS) in Munich. Previously, she conducted research in the Americas research division at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin and taught at the Chair of International Politics and Transatlantic Relations at the University of Regensburg.
