Boris Ruge ist seit 2023 Beigeordneter Generalsekretär der NATO für politische Angelegenheiten und Sicherheitspolitik. Nach einem Studium der Geschichte an der Universität zu Köln und der University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill sowie einem Diplom in internationalen Beziehungen am Bologna Center der Johns Hopkins University trat er 1989 in den Auswärtigen Dienst ein. Sein Schwerpunkt liegt auf Sicherheits- und Stabilitätspolitik.

Boris Ruge has been NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy since 2023. After studying history at the University of Cologne and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and obtaining a degree in international relations from the Johns Hopkins University Bologna Center, he joined the Foreign Service in 1989. His focus is on security and stability policy.
