Im Zentrum der diesjährigen Veranstaltung steht die drängende Frage, wie es um die NATO und die Sicherheit Europas bestellt wäre, wenn sich die USA zurückziehen.

Unter dem Titel „Die NATO mit weniger USA? Was die Europäer jetzt tun müssen“ diskutieren wir die sicherheitspolitischen Konsequenzen der andauernden Bedrohung durch Russland. Wir beleuchten zudem den globalen Machtanspruch Chinas und dessen Zusammenarbeit mit Moskau. Und wir analysieren die Neuausrichtung der amerikanischen Strategie unter Präsident Trump – und was dies für die Sicherheit Europas und Deutschlands bedeutet.

Gemeinsam mit hochrangigen Vertreterinnen und Vertretern aus Politik, Wissenschaft und Streitkräften beleuchten wir die neue Verantwortung der Europäer in der Allianz, prüfen konkrete Handlungsoptionen und fragen: Wie weit ist Europa fähig und bereit, für seine eigene Sicherheit und Verteidigung zu sorgen?

Ob Abschreckung, faire Lastenteilung oder strategische Autonomie – der NATO Talk 2025 liefert Denkanstöße, Perspektiven und Impulse für die sicherheitspolitische Debatte in Deutschland und darüber hinaus.

The German Atlantic Association and its partner, the George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies, cordially invite you to the NATO Talk Conference 2025.

This year’s event will focus on the pressing question of what would happen to NATO and European security if the United States were to withdraw.

Under the title ‘NATO with less US? What Europeans must do now’, we will discuss the security policy consequences of the ongoing threat from Russia. We will also examine China’s global power ambitions and its cooperation with Moscow. And we will analyse the realignment of American strategy under President Trump – and what this means for the security of Europe and Germany.

Together with high-ranking representatives from politics, academia and the armed forces, we will examine the new responsibilities of Europeans in the alliance, consider concrete options for action and ask: How far is Europe capable and willing to go to ensure its own security and defence?

Whether deterrence, fair burden-sharing or strategic autonomy – NATO Talk 2025 provides food for thought, perspectives and impetus for the security policy debate in Germany and beyond.
