Sławomir Dębski ist Historiker, Außenpolitikexperte und Berater aller polnischen Regierungen seit 2000. Er ist als Teamleiter beteiligt am, Aufbau verschiedener Institutionen und Experte für interinstitutionelle Kommunikation. Er kam im Jahr 2000 als Analyst für die russische Außenpolitik zum Polnischen Institut für Internationale Angelegenheiten (PISM), seit dem arbeitet er am PISM als Forschungskoordinator für Osteuropa, als Leiter des Forschungsbüros (2002-2007), stellvertretender Direktor und schließlich als Direktor (2007-2010). Im Jahr 2008 wurde er für die polnisch-russische Gruppe für schwierige Angelegenheiten nominiert (2008-2016). Im Jahr 2010 wurde er Sonderbeauftragter des Ministers für Kultur und nationales Erbe für die Einrichtung des Zentrums für polnisch-russischen Dialog und Verständigung (CPRDiP). Im September 2011 wurde er zum Direktor des CPRDiP, im Februar 2016 zum zweiten Mal zum Direktor von PISM ernannt. Dr. Dębski ist außerdem Chefredakteur der polnischen diplomatischen Zeitschrift "Polski Przegląd Dyplomatyczny" (2007-2010 und 2016-) und des russischsprachigen Quartalsblatts "Europa" (2001-2010), Autor einer der wichtigsten Monographien über das sowjetisch-deutsche Bündnis zwischen 1939 und 1941 (2018). Er ist auch Herausgeber einiger Bände diplomatischer Dokumente, Dutzender außenpolitischer Studien und Essays, u.a. über die Umgestaltung der NATO und die transatlantischen Beziehungen.

Sławomir Dębski is a historian, foreign policy expert and advisor to all Polish governments since 2000. He has been involved as a team leader in the development of various institutions and an expert in inter-institutional communication. He joined the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) in 2000 as an analyst for Russian foreign policy. Since then he has been working at PISM as a research coordinator for Eastern Europe, head of the research office (2002-2007), deputy director and finally director (2007-2010). In 2008 he was nominated for the Polish-Russian Group for Difficult Affairs (2008-2016). In 2010 he became the Special Representative of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for the establishment of the Center for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding (CPRDiP). In September 2011 he was appointed Director of CPRDiP, and in February 2016 he was appointed Director of PISM for the second time. Dr. Dębski is also editor-in-chief of the Polish diplomatic journal "Polski Przegląd Dyplomatyczny" (2007-2010 and 2016-) and of the Russian-language quarterly "Europa" (2001-2010), author of one of the most important monographs on the Soviet German alliance between 1939 and 1941 (2018). He is also the editor of several volumes of diplomatic documents, dozens of foreign policy studies and essays, including on NATO transformation and transatlantic relations.
