Bundesminister a. D. Christian Schmidt trat 2021 das Amt des Hohen Repräsentanten für Bosnien und Herzegowina an und ist seit 2006 Präsident der Deutschen Atlantischen Gesellschaft. Seit 1990 war er Abgeordneter des Deutschen Bundestages. Von 2002 bis 2005 war er Verteidigungspolitischer Sprecher der CDU/CSU-Bundestagsfraktion und im Anschluss bis 2013 Parlamentarischer Staatssekretär beim Bundesminister der Verteidigung. 2014 wurde er zum Bundesminister für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft ernannt; ein Amt, das er bis 2018 bekleidete. Er ist stellvertretender Vorsitzender der Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung.

Former Federal Minister Christian Schmidt took office as High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2021 and has been President of the German Atlantic Society since 2006. He had been a member of the German Bundestag since 1990. From 2002 to 2005, he was the Defence Policy Spokesman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag and subsequently Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Defence until 2013. In 2014, he was appointed Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, a post he held until 2018. He is Deputy Chairman of the Hanns Seidel Foundation.

Botschafter Ekkehard Brose begann seine Karriere 1976 als Soldat auf Zeit, bevor er 1978 seine Studien der Volkswirtschaftslehre, Politik, Philosophie und Internationalen Beziehungen in Köln und als Rhodes Stipendiat an der Universität Oxford aufnahm. Auf seinen Stationen als Wirtschaftsgesandter an der dt. Botschaft Moskau, Unterabteilungsleiter der Europaabteilung des Auswärtigen Amtes, Referatsleiter Sicherheitspolitik in der Politischen Abteilung des Auswärtigen Amtes, als Referatsleiter in der Europaabteilung des Auswärtigen Amtes und als Gesandter der Ständigen Vertretung der BRD bei der NATO, konnte Brose einiges an diplomatischer Praxis sammeln, bevor er 2014 zum Botschafter in der Republik Irak ernannt wurde. Nach seiner Zeit als Beauftragter für Zivile Krisenprävention und Stabilisierung im Auswärtigen Amt, ist der Botschafter seit Oktober 2019 Präsident der Bundesakademie für Sicherheitspolitik.

Ambassador Ekkehard Brose began his career as a regular soldier in 1976 before he began his studies of economics, politics, philosophy and international relations in Cologne in 1978 and as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University. He then became an advisor for disarmament and arms control at the German Foreign Office and in the management section of the German embassies in Moscow and Washington, before becoming Deputy Head of the Office of the NATO Secretary General in Brussels in 1996. In his positions as economic envoy at the German Embassy in Moscow, sub-departmental head of the European Department of the German Foreign Office, head of the security policy division in the Political Department of the Foreign Office, head of division in the European Department of the Foreign Office and as envoy of the Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of Germany to NATO, Brose was able to gather quite a bit of diplomatic practice before he was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Iraq in 2014. Following his time as Commissioner for Civilian Crisis Prevention and Stabilization at the German Foreign Office, the ambassador has been the President of the Federal Academy for Security Policy since October 2019.

Roderich Kiesewetter ist Mitglied des Deutschen Bundestages (CDU) und Oberst a.D. der Bundeswehr. Seit 2009 ist er direkt gewählter Bundestagsabgeordneter für den Wahlkreis Aalen – Heidenheim. Er ist seit 2014 Obmann der CDU/CSU-Bundestagsfraktion im Auswärtigen Ausschuss und war von 11/2020 bis 03/2022 Vorsitzender des Parlamentarischen Kontrollgremiums, wo er nun stv. Vorsitzender ist. Er ist ordentliches Mitglied des Ausschusses für Auswärtige Angelegenheiten. 2022 wurde er zum Sprecher für Krisenprävention der CDU/CSU-Bundestagsfraktion gewählt. Er ist Mitglied im Gemeinsamen Ausschuss (Notparlament). Im Mai 2022 wurde Roderich Kiesewetter in den Vorstand der Deutschen Atlantischen Gesellschaft gewählt.

Roderich Kiesewetter is a member of the German Bundestag (CDU) and a retired colonel in the German armed forces. He has been a directly elected member of the Bundestag for the Aalen - Heidenheim constituency since 2009. He has been chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Foreign Affairs Committee since 2014 and was chairman of the Parliamentary Control Panel from 11/2020 to 03/2022, where he is now deputy chairman. He is a full member of the Foreign Affairs Committee. In 2022, he was elected spokesman for crisis prevention for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag. He is a member of the Joint Committee (Emergency Parliament). In May 2022, Roderich Kiesewetter was elected to the Board of the German Atlantic Association.

Joachim Krause (* 1951 in Heide, Schleswig-Holstein) ist ein deutscher Politikwissenschaftler. Er war von 2001 bis 2016 Professor für Internationale Politik am Institut für Sozialwissenschaften der Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel und ist seit 2002 Direktor des Instituts für Sicherheitspolitik an der Universität Kiel. Von 2014-2020 war er im Vorstand der Stiftung Wissenschaft und Demokratie. Er ist außerdem Herausgeber und Chefredakteur der Zeitschrift für strategische Analysen „Sirius“.

Joachim Krause (* 1951 in Heide, Schleswig-Holstein) is a German political scientist. He was Professor of International Politics at the Institute of Social Sciences at Christian Albrechts University in Kiel from 2001 to 2016 and has been Director of the Institute for Security Policy at Kiel University since 2002. From 2014-2020, he served on the board of the Foundation for Science and Democracy. He is also publisher and editor-in-chief of the journal for strategic analysis "Sirius".

Marina Weisband ist Beteiligungspädagogin, Diplompsychologin und Autorin. Als Co-Vorsitzende von D64 e.V. ist sie außerdem Expertin für digitale Partizipation und Bildung und leitet bei politik-digital e.V. das Demokratieprojekt „aula“. Sie ist Speakerin und ehemalige politische Geschäftsführerin der Piratenpartei Deutschland.

Marina Weisband is a participation educator, psychologist and author. Co-chair of D64 e.V., she is an expert in digital participation and education and heads the democracy project "aula" at politik-digital e.V.. Speaker and former political director of the Pirate Party Germany.

Michał Baranowski ist Senior Fellow und Leiter des GMF-Büros in Warschau, wo er für die strategische Ausrichtung und Führung der Arbeit der Organisation in Polen, den baltischen Staaten und den Visegrad Staaten verantwortlich ist. Michał Baranowski is a senior fellow and the director of GMF's Warsaw office, where he provides overall strategic direction and leadership for the organization’s work in Poland, the Baltic states, and the V4 countries. He writes and speaks extensively on NATO, transatlantic relations, and U.S. foreign policy, and publishes in Polish, American, and European media and policy journals. He is a member of the Polish-German reflection group established by the presidents of Poland and Germany. He holds a master's of European public affairs from Maastricht University, and has studied at Mercer University in the United States and the University of Oxford.

Lea Sahay, geb. Deuber, ist die China-Korrespondentin der Süddeutschen Zeitung und berichtet aus Peking über die chinesische Politik und Gesellschaft. Von 2016 bis 2018 arbeitete sie in Shanghai für die Wirtschaftswoche. Als Vorstandsvorsitzende des Vereins journalists.network setzt sie sich für die Förderung von Auslandsberichterstattung und die Förderung junger Journalisten ein.

Lea Sahay, née Deuber, is the China correspondent for Süddeutsche Zeitung and reports from Beijing on Chinese politics and society. From 2016 to 2018, she worked in Shanghai for Wirtschaftswoche. As chair of the board of the journalists.network association, she is committed to promoting foreign reporting and young journalists.

Theresa Caroline Winter verantwortet den Themenbereich vernetzte Sicherheit und Verteidigungspolitik der Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit (FNF). Vor ihrer Position in der Stiftung arbeitete sie mehrere Jahre für Lockheed Martin International als Referentin für Regierungsbeziehungen. In ihrer Arbeit konzentriert sie sich derzeit auf die Themen Abschreckung und zivil-militärische Kooperation. Sie ist erweitertes Vorstandsmitglied von WIIS Deutschland. Theresa Winter hat ihren Bachelor in European Studies an der Universität Magdeburg und ihren Master in Crisis and Security Management an der Leiden Universität erworben.

Theresa Caroline Winter is responsible for the thematic area of networked security and defense policy at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF). Prior to her position at the Foundation, she worked for Lockheed Martin International for several years as a government relations officer. Zuvor war Julia Friedlander unter anderem als Beraterin im US-Finanzministerium und im Weißen Haus tätig. Die gebürtige New Yorkerin, die in Princeton und an der Johns Hopkins Universität studierte, hat im Rahmen eines DAAD-Stipendiums zwei Jahre in Deutschland gelebt.

Julia Friedlander is an expert on transatlantic economic relations, EU economic policy, and financial regulation and sanctions. Previously, Julia Friedlander served as an advisor at the U.S. Treasury Department and the White House, among other positions. As a native New Yorker who studied at Princeton and Johns Hopkins University, she lived in Germany for two years on a DAAD scholarship.

Generalmajor Dipl.-Pol. Jörg See ist seit Mai 2019 als Stellvertretender Beigeordneter Generalsekretär für Verteidigungspolitik und Streitkräfteplanung im Hauptquartier der NATO in Brüssel tätig. Internationale und operative Erfahrung sammelte er u.a. als Dezernatsleiter für Operationen und Einsätze im Stab des Deutschen Militärischen Vertreters im Militärausschuss der NATO und bei der Europäischen Union in Brüssel sowie in Auslandseinsätzen der Bundeswehr als Adjutant des Kommandeurs KFOR im Kosovo und als Stabsoffizier für Planung im ISAF Hauptquartier in Afghanistan. Im Bundesministerium der Verteidigung diente er u.a. als stellvertretender Adjutant des Bundesministers und in der Folge in der Abteilung Politik als Referatsleiter für NATO-Angelegenheiten sowie in der Abteilung Personal als Referatsleiter für die Personalentwicklung des militärischen Spitzenpersonals. Vor seiner derzeitigen Verwendung war er als Kommandeur der Panzerbrigade 12 eingesetzt.

He gained international experience, among others as Chief of Operations and Missions Section in the German Military Representation to NATO/EU. Later, he gained operational experience in Kosovo where he served as Military Assistant to the Commander KFOR and as CJ 35 SO Plans for the International Security Assistance Force Headquarters in Kabul. In 2010, he served as Deputy Senior Military Assistant to the Federal Minister of Defence (FmoD) in Berlin, before being appointed Chief of Branch, Military Personnel Development in FmoD Bonn. Other appointments include, inter alia, Commander of Armoured Brigade 12, and Chief of NATO Policy, Directorate General for Security and Defence Policy in FmoD Berlin. Jörg See holds the rank of Major General Dipl.-Pol in the German Armed Forces.

Alda Vanaga begann ihren Dienst im lettischen Außenministerium im Jahr 1992. In ihrer beruflichen Laufbahn war sie unter anderem außerordentliche und bevollmächtigte Botschafterin der Republik Lettland in Dänemark und Portugal sowie nichtansässige Botschafterin in Brasilien. Sie war auch Direktorin der EU- und Koordinierungsabteilung, Direktorin der Konsularabteilung und stellvertretende Staatssekretärin-Verwaltungsdirektorin. Botschafterin Vanaga studierte an der Juristischen Fakultät der Universität Lettlands und erwarb sowohl einen Bachelor- als auch einen Master-Abschluss. Sie spricht Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch, Russisch und Portugiesisch. Seit dem 22. August 2022 ist sie außerordentliche und bevollmächtigte Botschafterin der Republik Lettland in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland.

Alda Vanaga began her service in the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1992. During her career, she has served, among other positions, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Denmark and Portugal, and non-resident Ambassador to Brazil. She was also Director of the EU and Coordination Department, Director of the Consular Department and Deputy State Secretary-Administrative Director. Ambassador Vanaga studied at the Faculty of Law of the University of Latvia, earning both a bachelor's and master's degree. She speaks German, English, French, Russian and Portuguese. Janne Kuusela ist Generaldirektor in der Abteilung für Verteidigungspolitik des finnischen Verteidigungsministeriums. Vor seiner jetzigen Tätigkeit war Janne Kuusela amtierender Generaldirektor (2016-2020) und stellvertretender Generaldirektor für Verteidigungspolitik (2020-2021). Er ist außerdem Mitglied der Arktispolitik-Lenkungsgruppe der finnischen Regierung und Vorstandsmitglied des Atlantikrats von Finnland.

Mr. Janne Kuusela is Director General at the Defence Policy Department of the Ministry of Defence of Finland. Before the current post, Mr. Kuusela served as acting Director General (2016-2020) and Deputy Director General for Defence Policy (2020-2021). He is also member of the Arctic Policy Steering Group for the Finnish Government and board member at the Atlantic Council of Finland.

Dr. Patrick Keller studierte Politikwissenschaft sowie Deutsche und Amerikanische Literatur in Bonn und Washington D.C. Er promovierte 2007 zum Dr. phil, summa cum laude. Währenddessen und anschließend übernahm er Lehraufträge für int. Sicherheitspolitik und Nordamerikastudien an der Zeppelin Universität, Friedrichshafen und der Rheinischen Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn und war von 2008 – 2018 der Außen- und Sicherheitspolitische Koordinator der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. Das American Enterprise Institute, Washington, D.C ernannte ihn 2016 zum Adjunct Scholar. Nach seiner Tätigkeit als Referatsleiter für Reden und Texte im Leitungsstab der Bundesministerin der Verteidigung (2018-2020) ist Dr. Keller heute der Vizepräsident der Bundesakademie für Sicherheitspolitik (BAKS).

Dr. Patrick Keller studied political science as well as German and American literature in Bonn and Washington D.C. He received his doctorate in 2007, summa cum laude. During and after this time, he held lectureships for international security policy and North American studies at Zeppelin University, Friedrichshafen and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University Bonn and was the Foreign and Security Policy Coordinator of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung from 2008 - 2018. The American Enterprise Institute, Washington, D.C. appointed him Adjunct Scholar in 2016. After serving as head of the Speeches and Texts Section in the Executive Staff of the Federal Minister of Defense (2018-2020), Dr. Keller is now the Vice President of the Federal Academy for Security Policy (BAKS).

Heinrich Brauß ist Generalleutnant a. D. der Bundeswehr, Leiter der jährlichen NATO Talk-Konferenz der Deutschen Atlantischen Gesellschaft und seit Oktober 2018 Senior Associate Fellow der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik (DGAP) in Berlin. General Brauß war von Oktober 2013 bis Juli 2018 Beigeordneter NATO-Generalsekretär für Verteidigungspolitik und Streitkräfteplanung (Assistant Secretary General for Defence Policy and Planning) im Internationalen Stab der NATO in Brüssel wie auch Vorsitzender des Defence Policy and Planning Committee des Nordatlantikrats. Er ist überdies Verfasser der DAG-Publikation NATO 2030 - Experience - Challenge - Future.

Heinrich Brauß is a retired Lieutenant General of the German Armed Forces, head of the annual NATO Talk Conference of the German Atlantic Association and, since October 2018, Senior Associate Fellow of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) in Berlin. General Brauss served as NATO Assistant Secretary General for Defence Policy and Planning on the NATO International Staff in Brussels from October 2013 to July 2018, as well as Chairman of the North Atlantic Council's Defence Policy and Planning Committee. He is also the author of the DAG publication NATO 2030 - Experience - Challenge - Future.

Jan Jireš ist derzeit stellvertretender Minister für Verteidigungspolitik und -strategie im Verteidigungsministerium der Tschechischen Republik. Davor war er Leiter der Verteidigungsabteilung in der Ständigen Vertretung der Tschechischen Republik bei der NATO in Brüssel. Herr Jireš hat einen M.A. in Politikwissenschaft und Geschichte sowie einen Doktortitel der Karls-Universität Prag und hat mit einer Reihe von US-amerikanischen und europäischen Forschungsinstituten und Think-Tanks an verschiedenen sicherheitspolitischen Projekten gearbeitet (CESS Groningen, DCAF Genf, CEPI Bratislava, PISM Warschau, SOWI Strausberg, PSSI Prag, SAC Bratislava).

Jan Jireš currently serves as the Deputy Minister of Defence for Defence Policy and Planning in the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic. Before that, he was the Head of Defence Section at the Czech Republic’ Permanent Representation to NATO in Brussels. Mr. Jireš holds an M.A. in Political Science and History as well as a Ph.D. from Charles University Prag and has worked with a number of U.S. and European research institutes and think-tanks on various security policyrelated projects (CESS Groningen, DCAF Geneva, CEPI Bratislava, PISM Warsaw, SOWI Strausberg, PSSI Prague, SAC Bratislava).

Dr. Daniel S. Hamilton ist Senior Non-Resident Fellow an der Brookings Institution und Senior Fellow am Foreign Policy Institute der School of Advanced International Studies der Johns Hopkins University, wo er als Richard-von-Weizsäcker-Professor und als Professor der österreichischen Marshallplan-Stiftung tätig war. Er ist Präsident des Transatlantic Leadership Network. In den Jahren 2020-2021 leitete er das Global Europe Program am Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Er hatte verschiedene leitende Positionen im US-Außenministerium inne, darunter die des stellvertretenden Staatssekretärs für europäische Angelegenheiten, zuständig für NATO-, OSZE- und transatlantische Sicherheitsfragen, nordisch-baltische und Balkan-Angelegenheiten, des US-Sonderkoordinators für die Stabilisierung Südosteuropas, des stellvertretenden Direktors des politischen Planungsstabs für zwei US-Außenminister, des Direktors für Politik im Büro für europäische Angelegenheiten und des leitenden politischen Beraters des US-Botschafters und der US-Botschaft in Deutschland.

Dr. Daniel S. Hamilton is Senior non-resident Fellow at the Brookings Institution and Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Institute of Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, where he has served as the Richard von Weizsäcker Professor and as the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation Professor. He is President of the Transatlantic Leadership Network. In 2020-2021 he directed the Global Europe Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. He has held a variety of senior positions in the U.S. Department of State, including Deputy Assistant Secretary for European Affairs, responsible for NATO, OSCE and transatlantic security issues, Nordic-Baltic and Balkan Affairs; U.S. Special Coordinator for Southeast European Stabilization; Associate Director of the Policy Planning Staff for two U.S. Secretaries of State; Director for Policy in the Bureau of European Affairs; and Senior Policy Advisor to the U.S. Ambassador and U.S. Embassy in Germany.

Nils Schmid ist seit 2017 Mitglied des Deutschen Bundestages. Er ist ordentliches Mitglied im Auswärtigen Ausschuss und seit 2018 außenpolitischer Sprecher der SPD-Bundestagsfraktion. Außerdem ist er stellvertretendes Mitglied im Ausschuss für Verkehr, der bis 2021 auch für das Thema digitale Infrastruktur zuständig war. Darüber hinaus ist er seit 2019 Mitglied der Deutsch-Französischen Parlamentarischen Versammlung – seit 2020 als Mitglied des Vorstands und seit 2022 als deutscher Co-Vorsitzende des Vorstands. Von 2011 bis 2016 war er Minister für Finanzen und Wirtschaft des Landes Baden-Württemberg sowie stellvertretender Ministerpräsident.

Nils Schmid has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017. He is a full member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and has been foreign policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group since 2018. He is also a deputy member of the Committee on Transport, which was also responsible for the topic of digital infrastructure until 2021. In addition, he has been a member of the Franco-German Parliamentary Assembly since 2019 - as a member of the Executive Board since 2020 and as German Co-Chair of the Executive Board since 2022. From 2011 to 2016, he was Minister of Finance and Economics of the state of Baden-Württemberg and Deputy Minister President.

Cosima Gill ist freie Journalistin und moderiert gemeinsam mit Journalistin Julia Leeb den radioeins-Podcast „Women in War“, der sich thematisch mit Frauen in Kriegs- und Krisengebieten befasst. Sie hat Sicherheitspolitik mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Südasien am King’s College in London studiert und Internationale Beziehungen an der Universität Genf. Als Südasien-Korrespondentin hat sie für die Deutsche Welle mehrere Monate aus Neu-Delhi berichtet und hat selbst Familie in Indien.

Cosima Gill is a freelance journalist and hosts the radioeins podcast "Women in War" which focuses on women in war and crisis zones together with journalist Julia Leeb. She studied security policy with a focus on South Asia at King's College in London and International Relations at the University of Geneva. As a South Asia correspondent, she spent several months reporting from New Delhi for Deutsche Welle and has family in India herself.

Dr. Klaus Scharioth schloss sein Studium der Rechtswissenschaften in Bonn, Freiburg und Genf mit dem ersten juristischen Staatsexamen ab, bevor er Internationale Beziehungen und Völkerrecht und Internationale Wirtschaft an der Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy sowie an der Harvard Law School und der John F. Kennedy School of Government studierte. 1976 trat er in den diplomatischen Dienst ein und leitete von 1993 bis 1996 das Büro des NATO-Generalsekretärs in Brüssel. Im Auswärtigen Amt diente er unter anderem als Referatsleiter Verteidigungs- und Sicherheitspolitik, Unterabteilungsleiter für Internationale Sicherheit und Nordamerika sowie anschließend als Politischer Direktor und Leiter der Politischen Abteilung (1999-2002). Vor seiner letzten Verwendung als deutscher Botschafter in den Vereinigten Staaten (2006-2011) war er Staatssekretär des Auswärtigen Amtes (2002-2006).

Dr. Klaus Scharioth completed his legal studies in Bonn, Freiburg and Geneva with the first state examination in law before studying international relations and international law and international economics at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy as well as at Harvard Law School and the John F. Kennedy School of Government. He joined the diplomatic service in 1976 and headed the Office of the NATO Secretary General in Brussels from 1993 to 1996. In the German Foreign Office, he served, among other things, as Head of the Defence and Security Policy Division, Sub-Division Head for International Security and North America, and subsequently as Political Director and Head of the Political Department (1999-2002). Before his last assignment as German Ambassador to the United States (2006-2011), he was Secretary of State at the Federal Foreign Office (2002-2006).

Bundesminister a. D. Christian Schmidt trat 2021 das Amt des Hohen Repräsentanten für Bosnien und Herzegowina an und ist seit 2006 Präsident der Deutschen Atlantischen Gesellschaft. Seit 1990 war er Abgeordneter des Deutschen Bundestages. Von 2002 bis 2005 war er Verteidigungspolitischer Sprecher der CDU/CSU-Bundestagsfraktion und im Anschluss bis 2013 Parlamentarischer Staatssekretär beim Bundesminister der Verteidigung. 2014 wurde er zum Bundesminister für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft ernannt; ein Amt, das er bis 2018 bekleidete. Er ist stellvertretender Vorsitzender der Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung.

Former Federal Minister Christian Schmidt took office as High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2021 and has been President of the German Atlantic Society since 2006. He had been a member of the German Bundestag since 1990. From 2002 to 2005, he was the Defence Policy Spokesman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag and subsequently Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Defence until 2013. In 2014, he was appointed Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, a post he held until 2018. He is Deputy Chairman of the Hanns Seidel Foundation.

Heinrich Brauß ist Generalleutnant a. D. der Bundeswehr, Leiter der jährlichen NATO Talk-Konferenz der Deutschen Atlantischen Gesellschaft und seit Oktober 2018 Senior Associate Fellow der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik (DGAP) in Berlin. General Brauß war von Oktober 2013 bis Juli 2018 Beigeordneter NATO-Generalsekretär für Verteidigungspolitik und Streitkräfteplanung (Assistant Secretary General for Defence Policy and Planning) im Internationalen Stab der NATO in Brüssel wie auch Vorsitzender des Defence Policy and Planning Committee des Nordatlantikrats. Er ist überdies Verfasser der DAG-Publikation NATO 2030 - Experience - Challenge - Future.

Heinrich Brauß is a retired Lieutenant General of the German Armed Forces, head of the annual NATO Talk Conference of the German Atlantic Association and, since October 2018, Senior Associate Fellow of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) in Berlin. General Brauss served as NATO Assistant Secretary General for Defence Policy and Planning on the NATO International Staff in Brussels from October 2013 to July 2018, as well as Chairman of the North Atlantic Council's Defence Policy and Planning Committee. He is also the author of the DAG publication NATO 2030 - Experience - Challenge - Future.
